Captain AC's Mutt of the Month:
Baby Girl is a female Miniature Pinscher / Rat Terrier mix who weighs around 22 pounds. She is looking for a home with someone who has experience with her breed and is patient that can continue to work with her. She is in a foster home now and her foster parent shares that she cannot be crated. Her former owner shared that she was mistreated by children and we will not adopt her into a home with children. Her foster mom is working with her, giving her verbal cues and redirection with desensitizing her to noises that she notices upset her, such as the vacuum. She is working with her on getting her leash off and on and handling her collar. She likes to have her space, and needs to be properly introduced to other dogs and people. She is housebroken, and will use newspaper. She loves car rides, and she likes to catch a ball in the air, and chew it before giving it back, but she will either throw it to you or roll it to you with her nose. She has been camping at the beach with her foster mom and met new people and done fine. She just needs to be on leash when meeting new people, let her sniff their legs, give her a treat, and she does well. She does need a fenced in yard. A calm adult home would be best for her, with someone who has experience working with dogs like Baby Girl. She is a sweetheart and will thrive and be a loving companion with the right person or family.
Please consider this sweet, loving girl for adoption.
